Infostoria Workgroups
Walkthrough
1. Set Up Infostoria on a Server
Install Infostoria on a server machine. The team edition of
the product can be installed on a regular PC running
Windows.
2. Create a Workgroup and Invite Members
When you login for the first time, a new workgroup is automatically
created for you. You can invite other people to join the workgroup.
Once other people join, they can create new workgroups of their
own.
At this point, you can start sharing content by uploading it
into a workgroup. Continue reading if you want to publish content
from file servers.
3. Download and Install Agents
An agent installation package can be downloaded by clicking
on a link in a workgroup. You can install agents on machines
that contain files that you would like to appear in a workgroup.
This can be a file server with videos or images, for instance.
4. Use an Agent to Publish Files
Launch the agent publisher using the Infostoria service manager
icon in the Windows task bar. Use the publisher to make a local
folder appear in an Infostoria workgroup.
5. Post a Forum Message
Post a forum message in the workgroup letting other members
know that new content is available. People will be able view
files in their browsers, search for files using key-words, reply
to your forum message, and post comments for the files you published.
